The Angolan post was established in December 1798 by D. Miguel António de Melo, a well-known city governor from 1797 to 1802, but the post office was not constructed before in 1850.
Still today, this is the post office in Luanda. Although few expatriates and use the services of the Angolan post, it is an interesting place to visit. Myself, formerly a hobby-philatelist, bought some stamps here as a reminder of Angola.
