Miramar
Miramar is one of the exclusive living quarters of Luanda. It offers a stunning view of the sea, Ilha de Luanda and lower Luanda in very central housing. The construction of Miramar, however, was started as late as in the 1950's when Luanda started to grow drastically. Much of the architecture you can see in Miramar reminds of architecture from the 1950's and 60's, for example the cinema and cafes found on the outermost edge of Miramar.

As I already wrote, Miramar is also central in Luanda and thus very popular. Among others, Jonas Savimbi lived here for a short while in 1992, around the date of the election.
