Igreja de Jesus

Igreja de Jesus

This church lies right next to the presidential palace of Angola making it the logical choice of the President and his family. At the time the photo above was taken, the church was being refurnished for the wedding of the presidents daughter.

The history of this church, however is unknown to me except for a few details: It was constructed very exclusively with, among other luxurious features, golden interior. Even with such a high level of exclusivity, the church was closed and used for storage in the 1850's before it was restored and reopened as a church sometime later.
