Phones I have used
Bjørn Hallstein Holte
On this page, I will list the phones I have owned and used. I am sure that this will not be of interst to most readers, but I got the idea and wanted to do it, so here we go:
Nokia 3410
My first phone, I got this one the summer of 2002 just a week after it hit the stores. Used the all-new S30 system with updates in navigation. I was proud of it and used it until sometime in 2004 when it suffered a breakdown
Siemens A50
Kristian's old phone, borrowed it while waiting for a new phone. Impressive quality, I threw down from my roof and it still worked! - though that was probably the only good thing about it
Nokia 5100
Shockproof? Well, it was supposed to be and I liked it very much while it worked from March 2004 until March 2005 when the screen stopped working and the shop told me it had been dropped from a great height. By the way, this was in the early days of the S40
Sone Ericsson T630i
Borrowed from the shop while I was waiting for feedback on the 5100, it was a great phone with a decent camera for its time and incredibly comfortable keys. I had wanted this phone for a long time!
Sony Ericsson T290i
The shop wanted the T630i back and I bought this instead. A big waste of money, nothing worked on this phone - no wonder it was cheap!
Siemens MC60
Got an MC60 from Sondre to replace the T290i and used it for two or three days. Horrible phone, very slow, no feeling of quality but it's a Siemens and you can't destroy it! Swim with it, throw it, kick it, it never stops working!
Samsung SGH-640
Bought it in October 2005 and used it until April 2006. Wanted a 3G phone, but didn't get one. This phone was OK considering the price, but I got tired of it after a few months. Gave it to Vidar to replace his Siemens MC60
Nokia 8890
An old top-model in titanium! This is cool! It was also my first encounter with the old S20 system which works very well. Borrowed it from Sondre from April to August 2006 and loved it! My best summer-flirt yet!
Nokia 6280
My first 3G phone, bought it in August 2006, and the first 3G phone from Nokia running the smooth and stable S40 (although updated with, among new functions, a today-screen), a great phone! It had a few bugs so I sent it off for service, which took ages.
Sony Ericsson T290i
Back with this one for two weeks while I'm waiting for news on the 6280
Siemens A57
Borrowed while 6280 is on service, used it one day and it was horrible! Would rarther use the nonworking T290i
Nokia 3210
My grandpa's old phone - still in perfect condition in October 2006. A classic, much better than the A57 or the T290i ... a bit big, though. Uses the ancient S20 system, which is very stable and smooth and has the greatest games ever (origial Snake, rotation and memory) !
Nokia 6280
When I got the phone back from service it was great! I also got the software updated to a much smoother, more beautiful and more stable version... Until it crashed again in March 2007.
Nokia 6103
Borrowed while the 6280 was on service in April 2007. Piece of c**p. Slow, unstable, unpractical and ugly. No sense of quality because of wierd noises when opened and closed. Stay away!
Nokia 1100
Borrowed from Sondre to replace the 6103. Not too bad a phone, actually, considering that it sports a black/white screen. It respond quickly, has a flashlight (the most useful function in a phone third only to calling and SMS) and good keys.
Nokia 6280
In my eighth month as the owner of a 6280 I had used one only for about four months: the rest of the time it had been with Nokia... Except for the minor detail that the phone spends most of its time being repaired, it is wonderful! After a year, however, it was falling apart and discarded
Nokia 5500 Sport
Aquired as the 6280 was falling apart in late 2007, the phone was my first S60 phone. The phone looks incredibly ugly, but when it has a flash light and is compact and light and sports S60, I don't really mind.
